Week 36

Week 37

So here I am, a day before my little girls arrive and it's pretty crazy. All of the sudden, the D-Day is here. I cannot believe it. I felt like the months went so slow, and now these last few weeks went so fast. So how am I feeling? Nervous. Anxious. Excited. It's almost an out of body experience that this is actually happening.
I've spent the last 2 days off of work, cleaning up the house, watching A Baby Story. It's weird watching the show now, knowing that that will be us tomorrow. My bag is packed, the girls' bag is packed, complete with Hokie gear. Well, for the most part. We discovered that the Hokie onesies we have for the girls are 3-6 months... a little big for Saturday's game! So Bruno found some NB ones online that should arrive before the big game on Saturday. I mean, these girls need to be cheering from the start!
Last night, we had a delicious dinner at Flemings and tonight we are headed to The Melting Pot (one of my personal favorites!) I told Bruno that I felt like a Mogwai, since I'm not allowed to eat or drink after midnight tonight. He blankly stared at me... anyone else get the reference?? Gremlins? One of my most hated films of all time (because it scared the bejezus out of me when I was little - and still now) So anyhow, aside from loving The Melting Pot, I figured it'd be a pretty filling meal for tonight.
Overall, this pregnancy has gone really well. As I mentioned before, I never had any morning sickness and worked until last Wednesday. I honestly probably could have gone in to work yesterday and today, but there was no reason to. My project finishes next week, and I needed to use some vacation time before the end of the year anyhow. I never went on bedrest and gained 47.5lbs (apparently when you carry twins the weight gain range is 37-54 lbs). The only downside? I did get a load of stretchmarks. Booooo! I was doing so well for the first 6 months... and then they just came out of nowhere. I was lotioning up 2x a day, figuring I would be safe. But no. And from what I've heard from Drs and some other people, all that lotion is nonsense anyhow. It's apparently hereditary or something? I dunno. I figure it's because I obviously grew at a much more rapid pace then others, and that's what caused it. I can only hope that they will vanish as much as possible, post babies.
So I think that's about all I have... I'm hoping to keep up with the blog after the babies, but I'm thinking my time will be pretty busy! I'll at least try to keep pictures updated :) Thanks for all your support and I'll see you on the flipside.
Oh, and I will post pictures of the nursery later as well. I hung up the girls' initials, so I can't reveal the pictures just yet :)
YAY!!! So so so excited for you and Bruno :)
