8 Months... Do Wha??

Well 8 months... welcome.  You came quickly with a whole lotta fire!  We were busy yet again this month... I thought things were supposed to slow down when you had kids??  Aren't you just supposed to stay holed up in your house, too busy taking care of your kids to do anything outside your direct living area?  Well not for us... as if that was any surprise!  This month took us on a few more trips, met a lot of new people, and hit some great milestones!

In the beginning of the month, we all jumped in the car and made our way up to Syracuse, NY for our annual July 4th family picnic.  We couldn't make it last year because my pregnant body didn't want to make the long trip, but we couldn't miss it this year!  There were a lot of anxious relatives eager to meet the newest additions to the family, and they were a hit!  Especially among their girl cousins (ranging in ages 4-9) who couldn't wait to hold them and take pictures with them.  Luciana was a champ for sure!  The girls experienced their first fireworks show and though we were nervous about the noise, it didn't phase them at all!  They were mesmerized by the bright colors and really enjoyed the entire show.  The girls did great on their 7hr car ride... mommy and daddy learned some things from the first long trip that made the ride go a lot faster... meaning, don't stop just to keep the girls on schedule!  Drive until they cry :)

The next weekend, the girls had their first visit to Chuckie Cheese!  We were celebrating their friend's 2nd birthday and I think the girls may have been a bit overwhelmed by everything going on.  Who is that big mouse??  We took a ride on the carousal with Vovo and even rode in a little car!  Looks like we may have our own little CC party some day...  The girls also had their first weekend slumber party with Vovo while we took a trip to the beach with our friends.  We missed them terribly, but they had a fun time, despite some dreary weather.

You got your first tooth!  I'm not exactly sure WHEN it really came in, but we first felt it on July 4th.  So so cute!  By the end of the month, you had another one coming in, and now it really hurts when you chomp on our fingers!

You are very fascinated with jewelry, especially watches, necklaces and mommy's engagement ring!  Maybe you'll end up being our diva instead of your sister!

Sometimes you stare at my neck, even if I'm not wearing one.  You really want that necklace!

You also loooove to pull hair.  Maybe that's why mommy cute her hair... hmmm... We've seen you pull your sister's hair (what little bit of it she has) and according to daycare, you get so happy pulling your friend Noah's hair.  Though he may not like it as much...

When you sleep, you're usually in one position all night.  It's not often that we find you too much differently then when we put you down.  You do manage to loose all your pacifiers throughout the night... a little scream when you wake up without it but you go right back to sleep when we put it back it.

You've become increasing strong with your legs.  If you're not sitting, you want help standing.  None of this tummy time for you.  You've been able to hold yourself up at the edge of the couch... soon we'll see you cruising around I'm sure.

You've always been a little bit of a talker, but this month you've been saying "Dada" a lot.  Daddy really likes that!

You remain a very happy baby, and have expanded on how you show it.  This month your move is clicking your tongue in your mouth and curling it above your upper lip in between.  So cute!  You love it when we mimic back to you!

We've increased your solid foods to 3x a day.  For breakfast you have 2oz of fruit and 1 scoop of cereal.  For lunch you have 2oz of veggies and 1 scoop of cereal.  For  dinner you have 4oz of meat - usually chicken.  Turns out you and your sister aren't the biggest fans of beef... so far.  You love chicken w/ sweet potatoes and apples, but you really won't turn down any food.

Your favorite toys are your Bla-Bla doll, Raggedy Ann and your bell.

At your 8m birthdate, you weighed 18lbs.  So big!  You are in 9m clothing and Size 3 diapers.

You have finally joined your sister in the sitting up world.  We're so proud!  I know your sister really loves being able to look directly at you, instead of down at the floor.  Great job baby!

Recently you have been rolling and scooting around a lot more.  We set you down in one place and before we know it, you're out of our reach.  We didn't even see you move!

Occasionally we catch you "crawling" backwards.  They say that's the step before a crawl so we'll see.

This moving is very apparent in your sleep habits... whenever we wake you up in the morning, you are every which way in your crib, a different position every morning.  You've managed to figure out how to roll over on your stomach and end up sleeping that way the majority of the time.  You must take after your mommy.

Right now you love taking anything and everything we give you, and shoving it directly into your mouth.  Even things we don't give you!  You will reach and grab, no matter what it is.  You especially love magazines.  You like to crumble the paper in your hands... before shoving it to your mouth.

You're still saying "Mama" a lot, and actually starting to look for me when you say it - yay!  "Dada" is starting to come into your vocabulary as well.

Your favorite toys are your colorful teething ring and your pink ring elephant.

At your 8m birthdate you weighed 17bs.  Not too far behind your sister!  You are in 9m clothing (though some 6m still fits!) and Size 3 diapers.

Next month we look forward to your second playdate with Lilah and Maddie and TWINS DAY!
