9 Month Old Babies!

So 3 months to go until the big 1!  I better get on my planning horse!!  Or maybe I already have... But either way, our girls are 9 months old!  They are so so fun and they are really developing at a rapid rate.

We had a lot of fun this month.  The beginning of the month was perhaps the most anticipated event ever - Twins Day!  Ever since I heard about Twins Day on the Rosie O'Donnell show back in January, I had been so excited for this day to come!  Upon looking into the details of the festival, we discovered that Twinsburg, Ohio is a short 20 minutes from one of our good friends, so we were able to spend a good part of the weekend with her and her family as well.  We took off early on Thursday to cut the drive in half, stopping overnight about 3 hours up the road.  Friday of the trip with drove directly to Twinsburg to register the girls and we were in complete awe as we entered the town.  So many signs and banners advertising Twinsday that it just made us even more excited!  When we got the registration site (Twinsburg High School) we were overwhelmed at the number of twins, and this was only the beginning!  As someone who has always been a little obsessed with multiples (Jon and Kate +8) and large families (19 Kids and Counting) this was a dream come true.  Thank God I had twins so I could experience twins day :)  To make a long weekend story short, we visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, saw a lot of twins and had a fantastic weekend with our friends!  Will this be an annual trip?  You bet!

This month we also had our 2nd playdate with Lilah and Maddie.  It's amazing how much the girls have grown in just 2 months.  Lilah was crawling everywhere, being a big bully (kidding!) and everyone was just so much more interactive with each other.  We're set to host the next one, but due to football schedules and weddings, it may not be until November!

We started trying out some finger foods, well really just puffs and wheels (larger puffs)  The girls seem to be doing well with them, now that they are ready.  We tried a few weeks prior and they just weren't there yet - meaning we gave Luciana a puff and she gagged on it just enough to scare Mommy and Daddy!  Hopefully we'll start more finger foods soon!

Currently your eating schedule is: 6:30 - 8oz bottle, 8:30 - 2oz fruit puree w/ cereal, 11:30 - 6oz bottle & veggie puree w/ cereal, 3:00 - 6oz bottle, 5:30 - 4oz meat & veggie, 8:00 - 7oz bottle.  Seems to be working well for you babies!

We discovered on our trip back from Twins Day that you loooove Peek-a-Boo!  We noticed you starting it months ago, but this time, you really got the hang of it and I had such a fun time playing with you.

When you get really excited about something - a physical object especially, you love to grab it with both your hands, shove it in your face and then slam it on the ground.  I guess that's how you show love?  If so, I'm scared.  Just kidding!

You've also become a pro at the High Five.  Well, to be fair the regular five as well.  You love smacking my hand when I hold it out and I love to show people this "trick."  You're so smart!

As always, you are our happy little girl.  To express your excitement even more, you've started scrunching up your face and breathing in and out quickly - we call it your pig face.  We try not to laugh when you do it while we're feeding you, but it's hard not to!

And just before you turned 9m old, you learned to pull yourself up in the crib!  Way to go little lady - I think we'll have to lower your crib soon.

I don't think I can name your favorite food right now, as you eat everything we give you!

You are currently in 9m clothing and Size 3 diapers.

At your 9m checkup you weight 19lbs and measured 28" long.

You had a very eventful 9th month.  First off you cut your first tooth!  You were about a month after your sister, and still earlier than  some of your friends.

You have been a crawling machine - crawling backwards that is!  You've learned how to maneuver around to get what you want, even pushing back into a sitting position once you get there.  It's pretty impressive.

It seems as though you have found a way to pull yourself up, which Mommy and Daddy may not be ready for yet!  We were all spending time in the living room and you backed yourself over to the swing.  You looked up, put your arms up and grabbed the tray and then whoop there you went!  You took us by surprise and you promptly cried as you tumbled to the floor.  But we clapped like crazy for you!

You are also pulling yourself up in your crib and we will have to lower yours soon as well!

We have taken note that you've really become quite the drama queen.  The little thing gets you upset, for no reason at all!  We try not to laugh but...

With that face how can you not??

You are continuing to eat well, just a little less than your sister.

You are currently in 9m clothing (though you can still fit into a few 6m outfits) and Size 3 diapers.

At your 9m checkup you weighed 17lbs 9oz and measured 27.25" long.

Next month we look forward to your first football game (cheering from home, not attending) and your first concert (Daddy's!)
