Friday marked Week 15 for me. It's hard to believe that by my appointment this coming Friday, I will be 4 months along. I mean, that's almost half-way. Yikes! Since we told EVERYONE a few weeks ago, the whole baby thing has felt more real. We had such overwhelming excitement from all our friends and family - it really makes us feel loved. It seems as though everyone is as excited about these babies as we are.
We received our first baby gifts from some friends of ours - all rocker t-shirts and one little girlie onesie.
"I know you don't know the genders yet, but it was too cute not to buy," she told us.
So we're standing in the kitchen, Bruno brings over the little onesie, and holds it up to my belly (it's still just a belly at this point - I don't regard it as a baby bump just yet, despite not being able to button my pants) The little onesie looks so big on my belly and I exclaim, "What size is that?!" I look at the tag, and it's NB. For babies 5-8 lbs. Oh my, that's the right size. Bruno then angles the onesie around to the other side of my belly as to envision where the 2nd baby will be. Oh man... how in the world are they both going to fit in there? Yes, I know millions of people have done it before, and so many have had more than 2, but still, it's scary. Of course I want our babies to be as healthy as they can be, and weigh as much as possible when they're born, but to see how big that actually is. It's a little nerve-racking. But we are still super excited because we know this is how it's supposed to be. God wanted me to have 2 little babies... so we're having 2 little babies.
Bruno bought his first gift for the babies - Belly Buds. In case you don't know, they're ear buds designed to connect to your iPod, and be worn around your belly. This way, the babies can hear music.
Bruno chimes in, "They can listen to Classical Music, and Bossanova. And of course TheBrunoSound."
"Yes, of course. We just have to be selective on which BrunoSound songs they listen to..."
Otherwise, thinsg are going pretty well. I'm not as tired as I was in the first trimester, and I don't seem to be using the bathroom as often... for now. Haha. But still no sickness and I haven't really had cravings. Sure, sometimes I'll know exactly what I want to eat, and I need to have it at the moment, but I was like that before. So I haven't really seen a change. I'm eating more, but just more often, not bigger meals. Most of the time, I can't finish my meal because I've been snacking all day. I try to eat when I'm hungry, instead of waiting for the next "meal time." I broke-down and bought my first Bella-Band the other day (it's like a tube top for your waist, to keep your pants up when you can't button them) I'm not quite at the maternity pants stage, though I wore some the other day that my friend gave me and man are they comfy!
I really do appreciate all the support and inquiries (i.e. asking how I'm doing, etc). It's awesome to have all of you with us. I'm hoping to get another sonogram on Friday, and if I do, I'll post it up. Otherwise, you'll have to wait another month like us for the gender-telling one. :)
Don't worry about the size of the onesie. Once you wash it, it will shrink and most babies will come out closer to preemie size anyways.
