4 Months... almost gender time!

Last Friday, at 16 weeks, I had my monthly checkup. My appointment was originally at 3pm with the same doctor I had seen twice before. That morning I got a call from the office letting me know my dr had a family emergency and that I would need to reschedule. I opted to go to a 1pm appointment with a new dr, instead of waiting another week. I needed to see every dr anyhow. As I've said before, Bruno is a very involved dad-to-be and even though this appointment most likley wouldn't be a sonogram, he wanted to be there. Making a 1pm appointment, at a location further from his office, would be tough. But he was gonna try. I waited as long as I could, and took as much time as I could when I was called into the appointment, but Bruno had not made it yet.

So I went into the exam room, listened to the heartbeats, and was discussing things with the dr when Bruno came in.

"You just missed it," I said.

"What??" he exclaimed with an exasperated look.

"Don't worry, we can listen again," the dr said.

We did. This time it was easier for the dr to locate both heartbeats. A strong 143 and 138. Our next appointment will be around the end of the month, when we find out the genders!!

A lot of people have asked if we have a preference on the genders, and we don't really. I mean, it would be cool if we had a boy and a girl. We already have a name for each agreed on, and Bruno would like to get it all knocked out in one go around. If we had the same for both, well it would help with the cost because they could share clothes. Haha. Boys or girls? Who knows. When I think of 2 girls, I think of 2 weddings to pay for. Yes, I am thinking WAY into the future, but I'm just being honest.

Obviously, we will be estatic with whichever God gives us, just strong, healthy babies. But luckily, we only have a few more weeks to go to find out.

And a side note, I just found out that another friend of mine is expecting, and she's a month behind me! So I'm 2 months behind 1 friend, and 1 month ahead of another... our babies are going to be bffs for sure.
